Bruce R. Mendelsohn
A marketing, communications and branding leader with demonstrated success conceiving and implementing successful marketing communications, public/media relations, customer service and quantifiable messaging/branding campaigns, Bruce Mendelsohn is currently CEO of The Hired Pen. The Hired Pen is a full-service marketing and communications firm that provides fast, effective communications solutions to numerous national and local businesses and organizations.
With more than 15 years of national-level communications expertise in law enforcement, business, non-profits, and the U.S. government and military, Mr. Mendelsohn has written, placed and been interviewed for stories in national media outlets, including CNN's Wolf Blitzer Presents, The Situation Room, and Headline News, ABC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, FOX News, Associated Press, America Online, The New York Times, USA Today, The Boston Globe, and TV, radio, and newspapers throughout the U.S.
Mr. Mendelsohn researched and crafted a report to the U.S. Congress in support of a national plan to transform Federal detention management functions and operations; promoted the beloved national crime-fighting icon, McGruff the Crime Dog; and helped plan and implement the $80 million campaign to build the National Law Enforcement Museum.
Mr. Mendelsohn is a graduate of Vassar College and has a Master’s Degree in Systems Management (Organizational Behavior) from the University of Southern California. A former U.S. Army officer with service in Korea and Germany, Mr. Mendelsohn now serves on the Boards of the Yankee Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (YIABC) and the Worcester Jewish Community Center. Mr. Mendelsohn has completed 15 marathons and is an award-winning triathlete. He lives in Central Massachusetts with his wife.
